Today, as we gather to recognize the Ship to Gaza in Helsingborg, 1am honored to address you on behalf of the Palestine International Friends Alliance (PIFA). This moment represents a significant step forward in our collective journey to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and advocate for their rights and dignity.
The Ship to Gaza embodies the spirit of unity and resilience in the face of adversity. It serves as a beacon of hope, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities to confront injustice and oppression. Through this, we unequivocally declare: the blockade on Gaza is
unjust and must come to an end. The people of Gaza deserve freedom, dignity, and the right to determine their own future,
PIFA stands steadfastly behind the Ship to Gaza and all those involved in this noble endeavor. We commend the organizers, volunteers, and supporters whose unwavering dedication has made this journey possible. Your commitment to justice and human rights inspires us all, and we are:
profoundly grateful for your solidarity with the Palestinian people.
However, as we gather here today, we cannot turn a blind eye to the stark reality facing Gaza. We find ourselves in the midst of a devastating war that has claimed the lives of over 34,735 Palestinians.
and left 78,108 injured. Behind each statisti lie a story of anguish and loss. Additionally, 1.7 million people are displaced and 1.1 million face severe food insecurity. The blockade on Gaza has led toa humanitarian crisis of unprecedented proportions, denying its residents access to vital goods and
services.
Therefore, as we unite today, let us not only acknowledge the Ship to Gaza but also reaffirm our commitment to ending the war on Gaza. We demand an immediate halt to hostilities and the lifting of the blockade. It is imperative for the international community to take decisive action to end the
war and hold perpetrators of war crimes accountable.
In closing, | extend my heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to the success of the Ship to Gaza. Your courage, compassion, and determination inspire hope for a brighter future. Together, we can effect meaningful change and pave the way for a just and peaceful resolution to the plight of the
